Career Transition Workshop

The Career Transition Workshop is a comprehensive (3hr) three-hour program designed to help people who are in job transition. The workshop offers training modules that cover the current aspects, trends, and tips associated with looking for and landing your next position.

Workshop includes:

• Establishing a Transition/Career Plan: Deals with the realities of looking for a job in this day and age. It includes job search realities and the steps necessary to create a transition/Career plan.
  

• Marketing Tools: Identify the tools needed for your transition plan. It includes discussions on positioning statements, creating a value proposition and personal brand, elevator speech, resumes, cover letters, biographies, special reports, marketing portfolios, business cards, LinkedIn, and other social media.
  

• Networking: Discusses the realities and value of networking yourself into your next position. It includes building your network, venues for networking, and online networking.
  

• Resume Writing: Identifies information on how to write and submit your resume for potential positions. It includes information about Applicant Tracking Systems, resume formats, position, and accomplishment statements, and resume mistakes to avoid.
  

• Interviewing: Discusses phone, face-to-face, and panel interviews and includes interview turn-offs, mistakes, building rapport with the interviewer, using the SPIN acronym, interviewing styles, things to do, and things to avoid.
  
  
• Salary Negotiations: Identifies the artful negotiation steps to getting yourself a better overall compensation package. It includes information about the offer and counteroffer, basic negotiation rules and guidelines, negotiable items, and when to walk away.
